Evolution of Surfing - 1960's Australian Board Design

Cost: Gold Coin Donation, $2 Adult/$5 Family -
Contacts: Phone: 8179 9599 / Website: Visit

To local Alistair Boot, surfing is life. Born and raised in Somerton Park, Ali is one of many locals who lives and breathes the ocean. A former SA Junior State Champion, today Alistair has amassed an incredible collection of surfboards spanning the 1960s to the 1980s. Each board tells the story of how Australia embraced surfing, making it a national pastime and becoming world leaders in manufacturing.

Exhibition highlights include rare Wayne Lynch and Midget Farrelly boards, South Australian made boards and never before seen local photographs and surf paraphernalia.
